Since we posted this ad we still havent found the right person. Well we said it'd be tough...

Ernest Shackleton Ad

Mint is looking for a Head of Finance and Operations. We are growing quite quickly and it's getting increasingly difficult to stay on top of all the financial and operational issues.

This role is tough, it requires someone who has the motivation to start things on their own but also the wisdom to learn from others. It's based primarily in the UK but includes the US. You'll report to the CEO (an ACA himself who now prefers to write unpopular plays and childish emails) but also to the Mint board including the notoriously hard to please CTO (cue thunderstorm sound effect). The role will grow as the company grows and you might get earmarked as a member of the board in our scrupulous succession planning process.

This is a great opportunity for a candidate who wants to make a difference to a rapidly developing company in an industry where the rules are being rewritten every week.

You need to be a UK qualified accountant, with 0-3 years PQE. You need to be prepared to get your hands dirty and to make a difference to a small team. You must be motivated by change and continuous improvement. You must be able to eat hot pot. You must be able to suffer the humiliation of having to say "we are in Vauxhall" when Old Street hipsters ask "where are your offices?"

In return you will get a salary, some share options, a desk, a computer and the chance to write a book when you are retired entitled "The Mint with the Hole in its Finances"

If you would like to apply for this job, please send a CV and covering letter to finance_jobs@mintdigital.com.

(Just to be clear, we are looking for women as well as men to apply for this role. We thought the Ernest Shackleton ad, whilst being deplorably sexist, somehow resonates with the task in hand.)
